"The Idea behind Songstats was always to empower musical creators with the knowledge they need to amplify their careers."
The team behind 1001Tracklists announced the launched of Songstats two weeks ago, a cross-platform music analytics service for artists, labels and industry professionals. Songstats is a mobile-first data solution that delivers important insights in real time. Currently tracking data from Spotify, Apple Music, Shazam, Beatport, Traxsource, iTunes, SoundCloud and 1001Tracklists, Songstats offers a comprehensive picture of the performance of each release.

We have also interviewed the team of Songstats, see the full interview below:
Hi guys, thanks for the time today. How are you today?
Evan: Thanks for having us! We’re doing well, all things considered, and trying to make the
most of the current situation by focusing on ways to grow both 1001Tracklists & Songstats. Most of us live together in Bali, so being able to live and work together during this time is something that we’re very thankful for. And there’s a ton going on across both businesses, so we’re really busy (in a good way).
We would like to know more about the idea of Songstats. How did you guys come up with
such an amazing idea?
Oskar: Songstats in its current form has been in the works for over three years, and the version that you see today is the result of a combination of ever developing ideas, great user feedback and a lot of work to keep improving what we’ve built so far.
At its core, the idea behind Songstats was always to empower musical creators with the
knowledge they need to amplify their careers. The app today does this better than ever before, by providing a comprehensive overview of the most important achievements, delivering push notifications in real-time and aggregating insights from over 30 million charts and playlists across Spotify, Apple Music, Shazam, Beatport, Traxsource, SoundCloud, iTunes and 1001Tracklists.
Can you let us know more about how DJs can use it?
Oskar: Songstats is designed to make complicated data cool, easy to understand, and
actionable. We automatically import the entire catalogue of all subscribed artists and labels
twice a day, so the Activity Feed is always up to date with their latest releases.
The Songstats app is an endorphin machine, providing you with exciting notifications about your career and the music that you’re most passionate about. Our goal is to encourage artists and labels to be more proactive in sharing new milestones with their fans, and instead of spending time digging for data and potentially missing key moments, to be able to trust Songstats in collecting all of the meaningful playlist adds and chart positions in one consolidated place.
Evan: While Songstats is applicable to all genres of music, we come from 1001Tracklists and
initially built this platform specifically geared to DJs and producers in the dance/electronic
space. By including data like DJ support from 1001Tracklists and the Top 100, genre, and DJ
charts from Beatport and Traxsource, we have data that’s focused on ensuring that DJs can
capture all of the dance/electronic insights they need in addition to playlisting and streaming
data.
1001Tracklists has been very supportive to us, and also aspiring artists. Have you guys
considered to follow this pathway and to help aspiring artists more?
Evan: Providing exposure to aspiring artists has always been at the core of what we’re hoping
to accomplish with 1001Tracklists. Specifically, we focus on artists who are earning big time DJ
support, but haven’t yet crossed the other thresholds in terms of social media presence and
landing gigs. These are the artists who are really on the rise from the perspective of their DJ
peers, and so we want to showcase this data and give them a boost where we can.
As everyone now is trying to get through this hard time, are you guys doing any
promotion to benefit more artists?
Evan: We’re actively streaming on Twitch ! We held our first Virtual Festival a couple of weeks
ago, we were a media partner for the Thai based Siam Songkran Festival, and we’ve hosted
several weekly artist livestreams. We’ve got a lot cooking to push out new music from artists,
while at the same rate trying to make sure that we’re doing it in a meaningful way given the
amount of content that’s currently out there.
As one of the most reputable and experienced teams within the industry, is there any
advice you can suggest/offer to artists during these hard times to help them get through
this?
Evan: Work hard, focus on your music, stay mentally and physically balanced, and be ready to
shine when gigs return. People are gonna be itching for live performances, so now’s the time to lock yourself in the studio and position yourself as well as you can when we reach the light at the end of the tunnel!
Songstats offers a free trial for all new users, and premium accounts can be shared across an unlimited number of team members at no additional costs. Download it Here.
Huge thanks to the 1001Tracklists team for bringing another great platform for artists to enjoy and benefit from, we can now spend less time on stats and more time producing!
