Be Obsessed Or Be Average

How a strong work ethic can impact your life & business.

There is a massive conversation going around right now regarding work-life balance. I get it: People want to separate their career from their spare time. However, unless you are truly obsessed with success, and will stop at nothing to obtain it, the sad likelihood is that you will never achieve it due to a lack of action.

“Never reduce a target. Instead, increase actions. When you start rethinking your targets, making up excuses and letting yourself off the hook, you are giving up on your dreams!” — Grant Cardone.

We look up to athletes because they are obsessed with their chosen sport.

We look up to singers due to their ability to evoke emotions within us while their songs play.

We look up to entrepreneurs due to their extreme work ethic and accomplishments within a business.

We admire public figures because they were successful in the obsession of their craft.

Why don’t we use that as motivation to accomplish our own goals?

What’s stopping you?

The only thing preventing you from accomplishing your wildest dreams is merely a lack of motivation & action. It is an absence of obsession within your daily life.

Don’t get complacent.

Obsession is feeling grateful that you can do what you love each day.

Obsession is what drives you to work on your passion every single day for the rest of your life.

Obsession is being prepared to do what 99% of people won’t, so you can achieve what 99% of people can’t.

Be obsessed or be average.

Dwayne Johnson said a quote that resonated with me:

“Success isn’t always about ‘Greatness,’ it’s about consistency. Consistent, hard work gains success. Greatness will come.”

There’s a difference between interest and obsession. When you’re interested in something, you only do it when it’s convenient. When you’re obsessed with something, you accept no excuses; only results.

How do you become obsessed?

Imagine you are a basketball player trying to get into the NBA. Just being talented and expecting results will (probably) not get you very far. To perfect your craft, you need to be obsessed with going out onto the court every single day perfecting set-pieces and shots.

Imagine you are a music producer trying to get into the Spotify chart.

You need to be continually working on perfecting song structure, sound design, and networking with the people that can help make your dreams a reality.

No matter what industry you are in, obsession is the difference between success & failure.

Do you want to become a professional athlete? Obsession is the key to success.

Do you want to become a famous singer? Obsession is the key to success.

Do you want to be a successful entrepreneur? Obsession is the key to success.

The reason why so many people lack the motivation to accomplish their dream is that they are not obsessed with achieving it.

“Sweat equity is the most valuable equity there is. Know your business and industry better than anyone else in the world. Love what you do or don’t do it” — Mark Cuban.

So what’s the secret?

There is no secret.

No hack can make your dreams happen instantaneously.

The only thing stopping you from accomplishing your goals is a lack of obsession.

Are you willing to do what 99% of people aren’t?

Are you willing to work harder (and smarter) than everyone else in your industry?

Are you prepared to do whatever it takes in order to make your goals a reality?

Are you genuinely obsessed with the accomplishment of your ambitions?

“This is hard work. This is an obsession. We are all equals as human beings. You could be anyone if you put in the time. You will reach the top, and that’s that. I am not talented; I am obsessed.” — Conor McGregor.

The truth is that there will always be people more talented than you. But the differentiator between you & them is obsession.

You can work harder than everyone in your industry.

You can work smarter than everyone in your industry.

What you do is what matters, not what you think or say or plan.
