Elohim's new album journey began with high hopes. "Can't Remember Your Name," "Tiny Human," and "Didn't Sign Up For This" dropped in early 2024, embodying a triumphant narrative of transforming anxiety into empowerment. A headline tour was planned, set to mark a career peak. However, her old struggles with anxiety, dissociation, and panic disorder resurfaced, derailing her plans. The creative surge met an impasse as these inner battles intensified.
Turning to Benzodiazepines for relief, Elohim soon found herself dependent. Her dream seemed to crumble as she canceled her tour and faced the tough journey of weaning off the medication. With an almost finished album and a fading vision, she questioned the release altogether.
Recovery brought a stark revelation—the power of panic is both destructive and transformative. Elohim faced her raw message head-on, not from an imagined height but from gritty reality. She still dreams of overcoming these battles and performing again, yet for now, "Power of Panic" stands as a reflection of her complex journey. This album is raw, brutally honest, reflecting her true place, not an idealized one.
"I never thought I'd be here, but this is where I am," Elohim states.
