Mothica (Shawn Wasabi Remix)' has taken on a new life, recently hitting #1 on Shazam's Global Electronic chart and gaining 1.75 million TikTok uploads. Today, the Toronto artist drops a live performance video of the trending track, featured on Cloudkid's Youtube.
On the new popularity of the remix, Pusher shares "Shawn Wasabi’s remix of Clear was incredibly forward thinking when he made it in 2016, and in a lot of ways was an early forerunner to the now mainstream genre of hyperpop. I regularly hear from the new generation of creators how it influenced them to get into music production (or even animation because of the YouTube animation memes).
