After an exciting start to the decade, TheFatRat isn’t slowing down his musical momentum. Coming off his first-ever music video for “The Storm”, as well as a recent Red Bull documentary, the multi-genre music juggernaut continues to surpass expectations and shift gears into new and unexpected directions with his newest release ‘Electrified’.
TheFatRat, who became well-known for his melodic Glitch-Hop style, now strides into a completely different genre, “‘Electrified’ is unlike anything I’ve ever made”, TheFatRat states. "Style-wise it's a house song, which is something I've never done before. Everybody I've played the song reacted like, ‘Oh wow! I never thought you could do something like that.’"
‘Electrified’ is a house anthem, poised to take clubs and dance halls by storm. The song eases us into a vibrating feeling of 80’s retro, while simultaneously embodying the magnetised vibes of the best EDM songs currently on airwaves and streaming platforms. The combination of supernatural, Caribbean-like organ chords, the subtle yet hard-punching bass, as well as the central low-pitched voice will easily arouse in any listener some feeling of passion. The lyrics themselves punctuate this point, as TheFatRat’s own explanation entails: “‘Electrified’ is essentially a love song. It's all about how another person can bring your state of mind to a whole new level.”
TheFatRat is again demonstrating his dedication to the community of creators and music makers by ensuring that ‘Electrified’ remains free of copyright restrictions. He is also looking to bolster his legacy with an upcoming Remix package, ‘TheFatRat Classics’, due to be released in May, which will include some of the best community-made remixes of TheFatRat’s most popular songs.
