Two of the pioneers of the “Darkwave” sound, US-based TOKYO ROSE and Scottish producer ALEX are undoubtedly two really exciting names to keep your eyes on. With unmatched chemistry between them, they have released two massive joint albums with Akuma & Akuma II charting on Billboard at #15 and #5 respectively, as well as a handful of solo albums, each displaying their unique skills and production aesthetics.
Now, the powerful duo have teamed up once again, dropping their fresh double EP New Era via Tasty Network. The forward-thinking EP features two original tracks by TOKYO ROSE and ALEX, as well as a remix from fellow up-and-comer BLOSSO. Introductory track “Dark Sun” compiles everything we love about synthwave, while title track “New Era” adds to the post-apocalyptic aesthetic of the EP, that rounds up with BLOSSO’s fast-paced remix of “Dark Sun”.
