Diskull Remixes SIDEPIECE’s “Acrobatic” And Wins EDC Las Vegas Discovery Project

Just recently, Grammy-nominated duo SIDEPIECE and Insomniac Records announced their EDC Las Vegas Discovery Project, looking for talented producers to remix SIDEPIECE’s single “Acrobatic” and get the chance to perform at the massive festival later this year. Now, the four winning remixes are finally here, and rising producer Diskull is among the lucky artists, having managed to impress Party Favor and Nitti Gritti’s team with his bouncy house rework.

“This is my remix that won the 2021 EDC Discovery Project for SIDEPIECE’s “Acrobatic” single on Insomniac Records,” says Diskull. “My friend Tommie Sunshine sent an email out to all of his label artists encouraging us to enter the contest. I had this really cool half finished beat that I lost inspiration on so I pulled it out of the dust and slapped the Acrobatic vocal on it, and boom! It fit like a glove. I actually got goosebumps finishing it cause it felt like it just fit so perfectly. Fast forward a couple months later, to the Director of Insomniac calling my phone at 10pm on Wednesday and asking if I could zoom with the team the next day… little did I know it would be Nitti Gritti and Party Favor (SIDEPIECE) staring at me on the other end telling me I won the contest lol. The whole opportunity has been a blessing and I can’t wait to perform at EDC Las Vegas this year!”

Label-owner and producer Diskull has had a wild ride within the music industry since he launched his project back in 2017, and has managed to sign his tunes with labels such as Insomniac, Dirtybird, Box of Cats, Country Club Disco and Do Not Duplicate. Earlier this year, his “Bodies Rushing” remix landed support from the likes of CID on Diplo’s Revolution, Golf Cap on Insomniac Radio and UK’s Deeper Purpose on Repopulate Mars’ Jumpin’ Jam Fest livestream. With so many accomplishments under his belt already, on top of winning EDC Las Vegas Discovery Project, Diskull’s future as a DJ and producer is definitely bright.
